Every Boyd Builders home is ENERGY STAR CERTIFIED. This is a program sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy. This is the only New-Home Energy Efficiency program the Federal Government is involved with, and our homes continuously rank in the top tier of this program.

Very few custom builders in this area are building homes that meet this HIGH level of Energy Efficiency. You can find a list of participating builders at www.ENERGYSTAR.GOV. Some builders claim that their homes meet or exceed these standards, but do not actually have the homes tested. Do Not Be Fooled.

We achieve this level of energy efficiency by installing a number of superior products in our homes. Vinyl windows, High efficiency Lennox 14 SEER systems, blown fiberglass insulation up to R-38, Rinnai Tankless Water Heater Systems, Radiant Barrier roof deck to name a few. We use Vinyl Framed Windows in every new home. The metal used in traditional window frames is an excellent conductor of temperature and therefore is not something you want in your home. In contrast, the vinyl (tough plastic material) window frame lets very little outside temperature through. The end result is a more efficient home that requires less energy (A/C, Natural Gas) to maintain ideal indoor temperatures.
